Nice photo of Bev Gannon, owner/chef of HailiiMaile General Store at the 2005 event. This is also our favorite restaurant on Maui! Note or Tip: This event is pricey but worth it! You can buy daily tickets for the food demonstrations by the chef's. Tickets for the final night Seafood Spectacular sellout early so order in advance of your trip!

Christmas and New Years in Maui

Plan ahead! Christmas and New Years are busy times in Maui. Make your reservations early as the best places to stay go early. Also the popular Old Lahaina Luau (http://www.oldlahainaluau.com, 800-248-5828) is usually sold out during the holiday season plus restaurant reservations are a must!

Michelle Wie usually plays in the practice rounds at this event. This event is totally accessible by the public. Performing at 7:30 pm every Wednesday evening in the theatre (small venue so you truly get up close and personal, not a bad seat in the house) at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, Maui.

PWA Windsurfing World Tour and other Events

Hookipa, Maui Hawaii

In 2005 Professional Windsurfing returned to it’s spiritual home on Maui, Hawaii. The PWA and other windsurfing and surfing events take place at Hookipa Beach Park throughout the year. (Check with locals or the Internet for exact dates and time). Hookipa is a great place to see windsurfing and surfing everyday of the year! Don't miss it!

Jaws Tow-in World Cup

Peahi (located about 8 km past Hookipa in Maui), also known as JAWS, is the premiere big-wave, tow-in surf spots of the world, where the annual Jaws Tow-in World Cup is held. The holding period for the next Annual Jaws Tow-in World Cup officially begins in December and goes through March, as the extreme surfers wait for the big sets to arrive. This is quite the event but you have to be lucky enough to be in Maui when the surf is up. 25-50 foot sets are required. Peahi is a bit difficult to find so you are going to have to ask the locals in the area how to find the access road. In Maui at the wrong time- Just rent the DVD "Step into Liquid" and see one of the most exciting surf movies ever made! Satisfaction guaranteed!
